Clariflocculator

Description

A Clariflocculator is a equipment used in the purification of water and wastewater treatment processes. It combines the functions of both a clarifier and a flocculator in a single unit.

Flocculation: In the first stage, the Clariflocculator facilitates the flocculation process. Flocculation is a chemical treatment in which flocculant is added to the effluent to encourage the formation of flocs or agglomeration of suspended solids to form a bigger floc, as of which the density of particle increases thereby ensuring effective settling with clear overflow.

Clarification: After flocculation, the effluent is allowed to settle in a quiescent (still) environment within the Clariflocculator. This clarifies the effluent by removing the suspended solids, impurities, and contaminants that have agglomerated into sludge.

Industrial Application of Clariflocculator:

  • Municipal Water Treatment Plant
  • Effluent Treat Plant
  • Waste Water Treatment Plant
